    1. In the UK, they have tea fountains in every elevator, phone booth and public shower.

    2. And in tanks!
      In WW2, the British lost some tanks and had casualties due to soldiers leaving the tanks to make tea. As a result, every british tank is equipped with a water boiler to make tea. Look it up.

  2. The French have solved this by calling the ground floor rez-de-chaussée (the street level), and the apartments one flight of stairs up are on the first floor.

  4. can you imagine if liftmen went on strike? how would guests get to their rooms? societal breakdown right there
