  2. Portuguese and Polish sounds pretty similar at a distance, I think - lots of hushing sounds and nasals.

  3. Are you talking about European Portuguese or Brazillian Portuguese?
I speak Brazillian Portuguese and I don't think it sounds anything like Russian but European Portuguese is pretty weird.

  4. This also applies to my very terrible Italian... If in doubt, speak Spanish with a bad Italian accent and hope for the best. Mamma mia!

    1. Do you learn Italian because of opera? I am starting to think ones who love opera start learning it at some stage...

  6. Well, for me (a Russian) the Portugese language sounds a lot like Polish. There's the same lot of "sh", "zh", "ts" and other odd consonants that make it sound like a snake's hissing (no offence meant). All in all, this "mixture of Polish and Spanish" sound really, really weird.
