  1. With Scotland (and all of Great Britain), I find it's not so much the accent that trips me up. My ear can catch the rhythm of an accent. It's their competitive drive to use more slang than any other English-speaking nation.

  2. This works with Swiss German too - not just Germans trying to understand Swiss, but also between Swiss-German dialects within Switzerland.
