  2. Thanks for the exhaustive research! Regarding "the weirdest one" in Germany as the 39th Day after Easter, it's a bit complicated and vague. This day is traditionally "Christi Himmelfahrt" or "Feast of the Ascension". It's been morphed concurrently in a secular form as "Herrentag" or "Männertag" (men's day) where men gather together to ride bicycles and drink beer together. From there it's been morphing further to "Vatertag" (father's day), and becoming somewhat more commercialized. In any case, as an American living in Germany I stick to the American date as "Father's Day" for me.
