Accelerated Dusk

Scandinavians are used to dusk after sunset lasting forever. In the tropics the sun sets it gets dark quickly

...why not?

  1. Seriously?

This guy really needs to know that in the equator, it's 12 hours day and 12 hours night.

Oh, and the sun never stays put for more than a month.

    1. He's not a very well-traveled Scandinavian. You can tell because he's wearing a very impractical hat.

  2. That was a cultural joke, right? It has nothing to do with what you know, but what you have been used to .... I guess it is the same the other way around (especially in the mid summer): "Is that sun ever going to go down?!!! Nooo!"

  3. Too true! I've not done the extremes of anywhere Scandinavian to the equator, but I did move from southern Australia to SE Asia and distinctly remember thinking I was going slightly crazy that it got dark so damn quick.

  4. I still love this one so much. It's how I felt when I moved from Michigan to Southern California, at least in the summer. So glad to be back home, where sunsets linger.
