    1. I guess since she's Italian, she's having a hard time coping with his way of cooking pasta. In the end he gave up and she cooked whatever they're eating :D

    3. As someone who also has an Italian partner, this is extremely accurate. I don't even attempt to cook pasta in our house. Hahaha!

    4. The worst is having Italians from different parts of Italy try to make pasta together. Lot of frustrated hand gestures there.

  2. Ha, this reminds me of something that happened in class the other day(I'm an ESL-teacher in adult education):
We were talking about reviewing and swaying opinion. I asked one of my students: "You went to the Italian restaurant nearby, and it was great. A month later, you read a bad review about the place. Would you still return to the restaurant?"
The student smiled and replied: "Depends. Was the reviewer Italian? If so, the place would always get a bad review from them. After all, they're very proud and protective of their national cuisine..."
We then went on to talk about how national dishes (like sushi, Chinese food, Colombian food...) are nearly always mangled abroad. :)

  4. Pasta is not even a meal in Italy, it is only a starter.
