  1. I said, "Ich sono 1st" but maybe I should say "I sono erste" to say I typed the first comment if it's Englitalianeutsch and not Germanoitaloenglish.

    1. Such an Kuddelmuddel!

I sometimes find myself (german) to know the english or even japanese word, but not the german. It only takes a few seconds but it is quite disturbing.

    2. That's okay. I often replace words and expressions with foreign ones when I speak Russian to my compatriots. Provided they know that language.

  2. We have the same native language, but after living in the USA, Singapore, and now in France our communication is a mix, mostly in Finnish though, but mixed with English, Singlish, and French words, idioms, and phrases.

    1. That must be fun. Ever have to translate for third parties? I find myself doing that all the time

    2. Well, I have some language puritans especially in my native Finnish friends, so I have to translate them everything, but it is quite hard sometimes (exactly the reason why we mix the languages between us)

  3. Now I'm happy I never succeeded with Russian! Our Swenglish (Swedish/English) is bad enough...for a brief time it was Swenglissian! But only if he started it...my Russian never got beyond the very basics.

  4. I am an American who learned some Spanish and Chinese, moved to Germany, is learning Dutch in spare time, has a brother learning French, Japanese speaking parents, and friends that came from each continent at school. Nobody knows what language my next word will be in.

  5. It's weird looking at the comments and understanding only 2/3 of what's being said... (I'm learning German but not Italian...)
