  1. I told you, you'll end up using credit cards in France...

  2. That's interesting. Do Americans withdraw cash at the counter with a credit card?
About currency exchange: in my experience all banks do it so I don't know where you've been...

  3. No, we withdraw cash with a debit card. But my friends here have debit cards and bank accounts and it's impossible to use the desk.

And yeah, I've been all over Lyon to a number of different banks and it's all the same blank look when I try to exchange currencies.

So I drown my sorrows in comte and Cotes du Rhone.

    1. I have to admit, I tried to withdrawal money from inside the bank the other day because the ATM was broken outside... they looked at me and laughed and said, "you're not from here are you?" ... I wasted 20 minutes of my life to find out that banks don't carry cash in France. I thought it was just Grenoble.

    2. What's a poor bank robber to do in a country like that? Simply unforgivable.

  4. This is so true....I had the hardest time just breaking a bill in case I wanted smaller notes...because banks no longer carry cash. Bizarre.
