Both parties apologize no matter whose fault it was, and in L.A. I thought it was almost rude that I was right behind another guy as we were walking into a building and he didn't hold the door open for me, that's just common practice down here. But in bigger cities people have less space and have to compete more for things, so they are used to having to be a little more aggressive in their approach. But here in smaller cities we can afford to be polite without being a pushover.
